Editorial - There was a whipser

Hello everyone!

I know it's been a while since I've posted something new, but you can blame school. I'm very busy now, finals are always the hardest and longest period. But I have to catch up, right, since I love blogging for you guys. So here it is, a lovely editorial called 'There was a Whisper'.

Rianne Haspels shows the elegant, though a playfull and rural woman in these beautiful pictures taken by Mick de Lint. Rianne wears beautiful and somewhat affordable pieces by River Island, H&M, Escada and Seafolly, all styled by Merle Groeskamp.

I absolutely love the scenery and the lightning, it's so harmonious with each other. And don't forget the pieces Rinanne shows. She could pull off anything, don't you think?

Have a nice week!

Primark SS '12 collection

I think some of you guys have heard about this collection already, but I just love the lightning and the scenery of this editorial. And not to forget the collection itself! Absolutely stunning, gives me a Miami in the 50's feeling!

Gotta love these patterns. Have a nice weekend!

Top Trend - Collars

Gossh, I'm in love with the 'collar trend'. They are so lovely, they give you a vintage feel and (to me) it actually reminds me of Peter Pan.

I think collars give you that extra touch, which can complete your whole outfit. That's why they're so amazing, because, for example, you don't have to worry about tons of jewelry/accessories or layering your outfits, which is not very pleasant in the spring/summer. And talking about seasons, you could wear a detailed collar whenever you want, throughout the year!

You can purchase collars or blouses with detailed collars at Zara, Primark, River Island etc, etc. But I know that some of you guys have an old blouse or shirt you actually don't use but still like. Can you feel it coming? Yes! Make your own! You can look stunning for the fraction of the cost!

My favorite would be the studded one. Which one is your favorite?

Cannes 2012 - Red Carpet Favorites

The Cannes Film Festival has begun and that means: outfits & celebraties on the red carpet! These are my favorite dresses from the Cannes Film Festival on 16 to 17 May.

Marion Cottilard in a beautiful peachy Christian Dior dress
with a pair of yellow Versus heels.

Eva Longoria wore a magical dress by Marches, absolutely
 stunning!

Diane Kruger, wearing a mint green and flowy 'waterfall'
dress by Giambattista Valli. My absolute favorite of all!

Eva Longoria, again, wearing an Alberta Ferretti dress, to
 the ceremony dinner

Fan Bingbing wore a dress by Christopher Bu to the
Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony. Reminded me so much
of a traditional chinese vase!

What is your favorite dress?

Nylon Mexico - Andressa Fontana

I love how Andressa Fontana was so playful & alive in this editorial. The colorful outfits don't stand out completely in this scenery, but let's say she just fits perfectly with all those city colors around her!

Newbie.

Hello everyone!

I'm a 15 year old girl called Nuri. I love fashion and whenever I get old (I still ask myself when I will be, haha) I think I want to be a journalist or something. I'm not very sure, but the best way to find out is to practice. And what is a better way to practice than blogging?

But wait... what does 'loving fashion' actually mean? This is my view on fashion;
Loving fashion is not only 'shopping', like buying new pair of shoes. Shopping is just a small thing in fashion itself. If someone says 'fashion', I think about all different kinds of fabric, designers, seasons, trends, colors, but most of all: I think about having your own style. And when I think about 'style', I think about all the amazing things people could wear. I think about trying new things, but not changing. I think about knowing yourself, but letting other people guess. Having your own style means that you're not afraid of your own taste. Not being afraid of what you want to wear.

So now I'm still working on my lay-out and everything, having a good base is surely important, right? But my very first post will definitely be soon!
